Christmas with all the Orlando family

The day after Christmas Rick and I packed up the family and headed to Leesburg to spend the day with the Evans side of the family! We really enjoyed seeing everyone, except Michelle had a terrible stomache flu and wasn't able to make it. We left from there late and headed to Oviedo to see Rick's sisters and all their families. We spent the night at Donna and Matt's house/ farm!! The kids always love it out there. They love the animals and free space to run.

This is one of the kids playing with my new camera at Gee and Papa's house.

Here is a look at why they all love Aunt Donna's house!

Here's Katherine hanging out with Mikey.

This is one of the geese that lives on the Yost farm. There are a bunch of ducks around here somewhere.Brigham always loves to play with his cousins! Brigham, Jake, and Kat. Looks like I caught them doing something naughty??

It was so much easier to enjoy our family because we had Christmas at our own home. I think this might be our new family tradition. :-)

Christmas 2009

The kids really enjoyed being home for Christmas this year. So did I ! It's way too much work to haul all their stuff somewhere else. Rich and Jo-Ann were here. They came over to watch the kids open theri gifts, had bacon and eggs for breakfast went home for naps and came over later for dinner!! Awesome!! We were able to enjoy the kids and have a relaxing day :-)

One of Roark's favorite gifts was his electronic Battleship game. Do you think he might be a little excited?

Cameron got an electronic drumset. He's been wanting drums for a long time, this was the only way I would agree. The best part... it came with headphones!! Hooray!!

Brigham has been begging me for the Imaginext Batcave for months. This is by far his favorite toy. It has more than paid for itself already!!

Katherine got lots of girly things. I think one of her favorites was her pink and purple tricycle. She can't pedal yet, but she sure can scoot along with her feet fast!

Rick and I usually keep it simple for eachother. The kids and I got him a shiatsu massager that goes in his recliner. He seems to really enjoy it. Ofcourse Rick always has to outdo me... he got me the new camera I have been wanting!! I hope you enjoy the crisp clear 12 megapixel images now displayed on the blog!!!!

It was a fantastic Christmas Day :-)

Cub Scouts

Roark received his Bear badge in October!! Hooray!! He is so excited to move on to Webelos. The leader he is shaking hands with is his new Webelos leader, he's always got something fun planned. We're very proud of our Roark.

Kat and Brig

I was putting laundry away one morning and found Katherine and Brigham sitting in Katherine's bed. Brigham had Raork's hymn book, Kat had his children's songbook, and Brigham was singing I am a Child of God to Kat!!! Too cute:-)

Halloween 2009

So, here are the kids at halloween. Kat is a strawberry, Roark is a bookworm, Brighamis Scooby Doo and Cameron is Captain Jack Sparrow. Thay really enjoyed trick-or-treating in our new neighborhood. Lots of fun!!

Uh-Oh!

OK, so in the process of updating my blog, I messed something up!! What is all of the crazy stuff near the top, and how do get rid of it?

Long Time No Blog!!

I know it's been aeons since I've posted... No apologies! Our family is having a great summer so far! Roark was able to go to scout day camp this year and he had a great time. Rick's mom and dad have been here for a couple of weeks now and seem to be enjoying spending time with us and the kids. Katherine is totally in love with Grama Jo-Ann, she squeals when we walk into their house! So cute!We are trying to stay busy and find things that 1-9 year olds all like, that's a little tough... the plan is to spend time together and come out at the end of summer all still alive :-)

Sprinkler Fun

I brought the kids outside today... being a nice mommy... to play in the sprinkler. Wouldn't you know it as soon as everybodies dressed and covered with sunblock the sky turns black. Look how hard the wind was blowing!! I let them play until it started to thunder, and then they all came in and took a warm bath. Well, that used up one hour, what to do with the other 23??

Gotta love Katherine's sunhat! Too bad there's no sun.

October... whirlwind!

So funny!! I just found this today (July 3, 2009) and saw that I had never posted it! Fun to look back a few months, seems like much longer. ENJOY! Katherine has moved way beyond crawling. She's is now pulling herself up to anything and everyone. Unfortunately she found the garbage can in the process so it had to be relocated. You can see how much she loves showing off her new skills!

Brigham is getting so big! His speech is adorable, and you can almost always understand him. He really enjoys going to the park on Fridays with all the little ones from church.

August happenings

What a cutie! This was obviously during her one month phase when she decided that she would actually drink from a bottle. A fleeting moment.

WE took the kids out to dinner at a place called The Elephant Bar. They were quite fascinated with the masks. We fit in well there, with all of the wild animal prints and figurines!

Brigham is really full of it lately. See that little sparkle in his eye? He's probably imagining what he should do next; dump out the shampoo, sit on top of "sissie", bite "bubbas"? So much to do, so little time!

This was our last family beach trip before the kids went back to school. Katherine was almost crawling and loved eating the sand off the mat.

Roark wouldn't let us walk him into his classroom, cause he's so cool! He is loving school like always. He is really into reading this year.

Cameron started school this month too. A big Kindergartner! He thought it was a really long day the first few weeks, but now he is enjoying it. He has a male teacher that was new last year, so he has lots of great ideas and energy for these kids.

Katherine began crawling in August. She's trying so hard to keep up with her brothers!

Katherine - growing

Katherine June is growing every day! I love having another girl in the house, I don't feel quite so out numbered anymore. She weighs in at about 15 pounds in these picturesthey are about 2 months old. Now she is weighing 16lbs 7oz. She's starting to get used to the new house and sleeping better. She had a cold for a while that was keeping her awake, but we've finally gotten through that thank goodness. "Kat" is our little princess!

Sanibel Island

One of the first family activities after moving to the Cape was going to Sanibel Island. It is a bout a 40min drive, not bad at all, and it si gorgeous! We arrived around 7pm and just planned to let the kids explore a little. We saw sea stars, fish and Roark is holding a sea urchin. The kids were all very excited to play in the warm water and collect loads of beautiful shells! We look forward to many more beach excursions to come.

Kaylee and the Piacente's

Cameron, Kaylee Ann, Katherine and Brigham!
No, we didn't have another one! In March our family had the opportunity to begin babysitting Rick's newest great neice! Kaylee is a sweet little thing and we have really enjoyed adding her to our family, for at least a few hours a week. She is about a month younger than miss "Kat". The boys are overjoyed to have another "sister" as they call her.

Halloween

We had lots of fun dressing up the boys and going trick-or-treating. I worked for days sewing jedi costumes for Roark and Cameron. (Cameron was Luke Skywalker and Roark was Yoda.) Poor Brigham was going to be Wicket, but mommy ran out of "juice" for making his so he had to take a left over costume from a past halloween, but he was the cutest little froggy ever!

Roark's Baptism

Roark turned 8 on October 16th and was excited about the chance to be baptized! His baptism was held on October 27th with many friends and family in attendance. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, Rick and I couldn't be more proud of the young man Roark is growing into.
